Around 1610, Raja Man Singh dammed the river to create the artificial Man Sagar lake. Within lies the Jal Mahal, which means Water Palace. It is a five story building, but four are flooded when the lake is full.
The palace is closed to visitors, but there is a wide promenade along the shore, bustling with people. I would have loved to talk with them and take photos, but everyone was worried about coronavirus and I was wearing my face mask. I dearly want to go back some day, when things are carefree once again.
