Wild Nilgai antelopeWe had spotted these wild antelope from the bus earlier as we were approaching the village of Gadoli. Like deer in the states, they eat the wheat and other crops that farmers plant. To prevent that, people fence off their fields with woven wheat straw and they post guards in the fields at night. But unlike other places in the world, they also hang worn-out saris on the fences. That makes the barriers very colorful! |
